Some time ago in the distant history of Colombians Hockey, a group of intrepid Colombians at the vanguard of the movement decided that the Colombian who had contributed most to the year should be rewarded with the title Colombian Of The Year. This much coveted accolade was borne with the specific aim of recognising a Colombian who contributed the most but such recognition would not necessarily be recognition of their sporting prowess but could be in recognition of their prolific socialising, an amusing incident, contributing towards the progress of the Colombians, helping society's less fortunate, overcoming great adversity in the name of the Colombians etc etc (you get the idea!). Each year, in a secret location, the previous Colombians Of The Year gather to decide who should be the next Colombian spiritual leader.
